Leytonstone mosaics

Alfred Hitchcock was born in Leytonstone, Essex (now East London) in 1899. A hundred years later, 17 mosaics were commissioned and installed in the local tube station. Well worth a visit, and only 20 minutes on the Central Line from Liverpool Street Station.

  1. Lovely, and a nice echo of Eduardo Paolozzi's Pop Art (a tad late in 1984) extravaganza mosaic for Tottenham Court Road station further down the Central line.
I heard the refit of TCR station might involve the demolition of some panels. Anyone been there lately?

  2. No, not for a while. Hope they haven't tampered with the Six Million Dollar Man.
