Not Waving, Drowning

This is the Harold Holt Swim Centre, in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris. It's one of a handful of prime Brutalist buildings in Melbourne.

This public swimming pool is named after Prime Minister Harold Holt, who disappeared while swimming off Cheviot Beach in December 1967, presumed drowned. Folklore holds that Cold War agents in the form of Russian and/or Chinese submarines kidnapped him.

Here's the man himself in happier times. Watch where you swim.
