Really like the Valkoinen Peura clip, so beautiful. Plus vampire reindeer - fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe entire film was reissued on DVD earlier this year - I really love it. As you say, it's a beautiful and haunting film as well as being an interesting mix of different myths and legends.
ReplyDeleteDoes your dvd have subtitles? The only version I can find doesn't, and it would be nice to understand what they're saying (my Finnish doesn't even start).
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it doesn't. As far as I know the Finnkino version is the ony one available - but I was so keen to see this I ordered it anyway. I did manage to find the subtitles somewhere on the net. I'm not quite technologically efficient enough to put the two together, though - so I just sat there with the piece of paper! It is definitely a film where the music and visual atmosphere carries it along not that dialogue heavy - but saying that, it is nice to know what's going on story wise :)
