I was obsessed by this series of 'adventure' books by Willard Price when I was younger. They were clearly something of the past even in the 70's. I loved the illustrations by the legendary Pat Marriott, which are really beautiful, abstract and haunting. (I also love finding old books with handwritten inscriptions like this one).
That's 40p well spent! Lovely bit of foxing as well. You've also reminded me of a favourite book of mine that has Pat Marriott illustrations. I'll post that a bit later. And yes, finding a hand-written message is a boon also :)
