Found Colour Slides

A couple of years ago I found three metal slide cases full of colour slides from the 1960's at a boot-sale. Most of them record the family holidays and outings in Britain and Europe. Here are a very small selection of them. I think they are really beautiful images, I love the colour quality and the melancholic sense of all those wonderful lost summers.

  1. The bottom picture is Ludlow in Shropshire. Lovely stuff, but rather poignant.

  2. Who chucks such momentoes away? And what must it be like to come across pics of your past posted by strangers online?

  3. I was told recently by some house clearance people that after someone dies the family members will more often than not just come and collect things like TVs, DVD players, jewellery and money, but will leave photos, diaries, letters, etc. These things often end up in landfill or at bootsales...where I buy them

  5. very nice. I come from near Ludlow and think I can confirm that last pic is in fact said townstead. Reminds me of a dream I keep having of wandering round this only half-familair city, then coming across sights and things I'd never noticed before.
