Disappearing villages: Happisburgh (Norfolk)

Perhaps adding to the hauntological Norfolk's case is the experience of Happisburgh village (pronounced 'Haysbro'), which has known for some time that it will eventually fall into the sea.

  1. If you look up Beach Road, Happisburgh on Google maps with the satellite view, the mapped road is revealed as a ghost extending out over what is now beach and sea.

I don't whether Norfolk beats other parts of East Anglia on this with Walberswick and the real-life horror of Dunwich.
