'Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World' is a seminal TV series, not just because of the Big Foots and the UFO's and the ancient enigmas but because of the odd people that appear in it.
Case in point: Yorkshireman Joe Alpin (bizarrely stationed at Alton Towers during the war) tells a well-rehearsed story about an inexplicable shower of frogs whilst enjoying a sunny afternoon in the garden wearing a suit, sweater, shirt, tie and a wig of a style and, most importantly, colour, that you just don't see much these days.
