Devastated by this news today....so sad
'Going Up' seems an apposite tribute right now.
utterly gutted... a true genius. He contributed to at least 5 of my 10 fave records of all time... RIP; keep haunting.
Johnny, did you know that he had passed when you linked to his blog earlier today? Here I was all exited do discover his music and non-music blogs to learn only hours later that he has now passed on.
Ah, sorry, Moonplague posed that.
Hmm... I've just come home to see this. At first I thought that Jonny had just found another cool picture of Peter, then I read on. Suffice to say that, at the time of my original post, I had no idea that Peter had passed away. My post was in fact a veiled response to the person who keeps deleting other peoples posts. Anyway, rather unsettling and very, very sad. I've never meet Peter personally, but I know people who have, and I can tell you, he was the real deal. He has been a great influence on me over the years, and he will continue to be so. To be honest, I really don't think it's sunk in yet.
Sad.Only a couple of weeks ago I was in email correspondence with him, as this found objects post made me remember a piece of Coil music I had been trying to track down for years from a Derek Jarman film from the late seventieshttp://found0bjects.blogspot.com/2010/09/bankside.htmlHe'd totally forgotten it and seemed genuinely happy that I'd reminded him of it.. he said he would try and dig out a recording of it from the archives. Not to be.
Very sad and unexpected. I've taken some kind of comfort from the fact that discussions and posts here have meant I've spent a lot of this week listening to Coil. On the night he died I had 'The Golden Section' in my head, by pure and strange coincidence.
"I'll wrap my last kiss in a bandage." Gutted.
