ReplyDeleteDelia Derbyshire was "unrecognised and almost unknown" before she became belatedly in vogue. Her colleague and musical collaborator Brian Hodgson is "this man - you many not know him". Maybe he'll also get due credit for his innovative work one day.
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right - it also doesn't help to have Maconie (however sincerely) make inflated claims that are easily refuted and undermine the importance of the Workshop. But, I thought it was nice to see something about DD on telly.

ReplyDeleteI have my suspicions from the voice, but I don't know for sure. Since when do you have to guess who people are on the BBC? They're usually pretty caption happy.
ReplyDeleteThere was no mention Sonic Boom. Who was the last person to work with her before she died. I agree it was nice to hear hr voice.
