Here's my contribution to the hidden statue theme. This one is at Mona Vale, another of Christchurch's homesteads that has thankfully come through recent seismic events relatively unscathed, minus a few chimneys.
You can find this fellow next to the nineteenth century fernery, which is in the bottom photograph. It was built for the International exhibition in the early 20thC and relocated afterwards. There is also a bath house on the grounds which has recently been restored to it's former glory complete with more statues and ferns - some photos of that after I make my next visit there.
