Pagan Report: From Our Iceland Desk...

Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson was a farmer who helped to raise awareness of, and gain Government recognition for, the pre-Christian Norse religion. The Íslenska Ásatrúarfélagið ("Icelandic fellowship of Æsir faith"), was recognised as an official religion in 1973. He was the head priest (Góði), till he died in 1993.

He was also known as a rímur (old Norse poetry) singer and appeared on music by Psychic TV, Current 93 and Sígur Rós among others...
