The song of the birds

  1. I've got a real thing about recordings of birds. Some people think it's naff, but I love it. I've open a few gigs with just bird-song. It's amazing to see how moods change, when a venue is filled with the sound of nature. Nice flexidisc.

  2. Agreed. I think it's fairly well documented that there will always be complaints received when test transmissions are replaced by the intended radio station -- Classic FM was preceded by a birdsong station.

I've sometimes played 'Swifts Over Stoke Newington' from 'Your Favourite London Sounds' in DJ sets -- for times like this when you can't quite imagine it ever being summer.

  3. Radio New Zealand used to play birdcalls regulary. This makes me want to dig out a birdsong LP I have.
