You Will Not Remember

Amazing performance from Barbara (the chanteuse name of Monique Serf) on a song called 'Tu Ne Te Souviendras Pas' ('You Will Not Remember'), one of those sardonic, cynical, heartbreaking ballads of resignation the French do so well.

Up until 2am last night, I'd never heard of her, now I'm fascinated by her. The performance is so simple, yet her angular head movements, bird like features and haunted eyes show the desperation behind her odd smile. My thanks to my friend Gary Zammit for putting me on to her.
