Living in a high rise in NYC is tough. You don't have access to a yard, and when you live five flights up you have to come up with innovative ways to get out and get fresh air.
Quite true, but I would chime in the most common bird of the city is the pigeon - and having observed pigeons for over 10 years as a part of my surrounding I could picture them roosting on these types of cages and causing quite a mess.
