ReplyDeletePart of my own, hauntological make-up, is a nostalgia for a time when North America seemed impossibly modern and exotic to me, and this brings it all back. Having actually been now, it's still pretty exciting, but something been lost.
No idea about those sleeves though.
Speaking of "exotic", I remember as a very small kid confusing the US with Africa, and wondering how they got on with their daily lives in America with all the lions and elephants running around. I think the US TV version of Tarzan was partly to blame for that, mind.
