Bird Recognition

On a little trip into Wells (smallest city in UK, so they say) I briskly popped into a charity shop and found this 3 box 9 disc collection, recorded by Victor C Lewis. It really is quite wonderful. Had to move very swiftly as someone else was looking at it from afar, so I sprinted across the shop and then parted with the cash. Not often these days that you could find something like this in a charity shop.

My Morning Ritual

This collaboration came about after I made a visit to Douglas’s recording studio, Twister Valley Records in North Devon to spend the weekend immersed in music, writing and producing field recording’s whilst rambling the countryside and beaches of North Devon. The product of this weekend’s folly was ‘My Morning Ritual’, an electronica scene scape produced by Keith Seatman with words by Douglas E Powell which explores the beauty and ancient rural secrets of the surrounding North Devonshire countryside. I have since recorded another track with Doug and a 3rd might be in the pipeline. All these tunes should be on the next album due out sometime in 2015.
My Morning Ritual is available now on Bandcamp for the mighty price of 80p.

Practical TV

Mr E J Jones of Wokingham seems to be having all sorts of problems getting his Aerial to work. Lets hope he gets it up and sorted soon.

More, surprisingly, here.

Around the Folly and Down Hill out now

After 17 months I have finally got round to getting the new album out. Its available as CD and Download from BandcampI won't drone on about it here, as all the info etc is on Bandcamp, but must thank Jim Jupp for his advice and additional production which really did get me over the last hurdles with this release way back in December and January. Now to start thinking about doing another one sometime.

I'm currently reading Anna Kavan's Ice and I think it's a novel that readers of this blog may enjoy if they haven't read it already. So far it is very haunting. See this article on it.

TV Trunk

Mr Jonny Trunk has put together this rather wonderful collection of BBC TV intros. Way to many intros to list here but great to see Read all about it, Dial M for Murder, On the Move and The Supernatural. It really is the perfect way to spend 30 mins.

This is a record

A friend of mine recently picked this up and was kind enough to lend it to me for a read. I have to admit I was so envious when he showed this to me, it really is a very lovely Readers Digest Publication which I would love to own. Pages scanned I will now give this back to him with a tear in my eye.

Clockwork Orchestra

I have to say, I think this is rather good :
Not sure if it's hauntological exactly, but I think people here may like it. Try the Belbury Poly sounding Mummer if you don't have time to listen to the whole thing.

Back to Buses...

After a small reminder from our friend Bollops, i have had a dig around the archives here at Soulless Central and found a few more golden oldies to satisfy the inner 'non' bus spotter within us..

Again, these are taken in and around my local area, so they are quite dear to me.

As a special treat, you'll find the first picture comes complete with a 'Ghost Sign' in the background and the final picture is of a very tunnel like bus shelter - I mean, who doesn't enjoy waiting for a bus? Enjoy with care...
