    1. Aha! It's The Crackerjack Book of Games, from 1965. A wee paperback, and when I looked earlier today there were a few copies on Amazon for a PENNY. This is less than a third of the illustrations, there are 73 games in all.

  2. 73 Games!!!!!!!! they believed in keeping you busy back then. Some of them look so daft I feel the urge to play them right now. Ping Pong balls and bucket ready.

    1. Heh heh! 73 games and they all involve nothing more than paper plates & cups (from the BBC canteen), newspapers, matchboxes or - get this - 7" singles.

Really though, it's 4 or 5 games with many variations. Game 1: balancing plates on cups. Game 2: balancing cups on plates, etc

Now I think about it, it's the direct equivalent of those plug'n'play video games that you used to see in cheapo tat shops, which boasted "900 games!", and it turned out to be the same 10 games listed umpteen times each but with different titles. Game 1: Jump Plumber, Game 2: Leaping Service Man, Game 3: Pipe Janitor Fenzy, etc.
