Nice find. Slide number 6 is superb.
Cheers, Keith! Re: slide 6, I notice it has a sign for Ramsden's Ales. A quick google brings up the Ramsden brewery, which was in Halifax. So my 'northern' hunch looks good.
Picture 8 is taken in in the churchyard of Holy Trinity Church, West Street, Fareham. They are presumably at a wedding. I tracked this down by the name of the shop in the background - I discovered that Dorothy Boal was a florists in Wareham and they are standing by a cross - so I looked up churches in Fareham. If you go to this link in google maps you can see the cross and recognise the buildings on the otherside of the street. https://firstname.lastname@example.org,-1.1833486,3a,75y,179.83h,70.6t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sR7HCqB1vjhqlZFp1H0qZPQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
that should be Fareham... not Wareham!
Wow, thanks! Excellent detective work. Fareham makes sense - these slides were found in a charity shop in Portsmouth.
Fareham looked a lot smarter back then!
